I anticipated him being rather severe and stern but he was a lovely fella, even if most of the 'talk' descended into him listening patiently to little old ladies talking to him about the NHS, but as long term area residents they remembered him from the days of The Bermondsey Bye-Election.
He gave a great little talk about the things he'd done before and since, though I was a little shocked to hear that the beating he got in Moscow a while back had left him with slight brain damage, though he didn't specify exactly what. But then he got all kinds of grief during the BBE too, BNP beating him up and his flat set fire to, and Mugabe's thugs planting a few blows when he tried to arrest Mugabe, he never takes the easy way does he?
