Rummaging Through iTunes

When it comes to horribly inept songs about suicide, is there anything that beats 'Lean on me I Won't Fall Over' by Carter USM? Let's see, the singer tries to make it all about him, not the person he's supposedly trying to help, tries to guilt them out of doing it, denies their right to their emotional state, suggests it would all be better if he just ignored that there was a problem at all and, as a last try, suggests the person go to strangers for help.

With support like that the person would be dead by the middle-eight.

Despite that I still find it a fun tune.

So, suggestions of songs with messages you don't agree with or actively dislike, but which you find you still enjoy regardless?

Most country and western falls into that category with lyrics that are mawkish and over the top - the message of 'Stand By Your Man' is naff, but I still like singing along to it ... :-)

Back Together by Baby Bird. I HATE the lyrics - they are dreadful beyond words but the tune itself is lovely. Shame they mangled it with their crap poetry. I never realised the Carter USM song was about suicide. Clearly I don't listen to the lyrics of everything that carefully.

Probably more than I know, I often can't make out lyrics.

I'm very forgiving of things I like dancing to - caveman-like eighties metal/rock for example, I love "Cherry Pie" by Warrant, and lots of AC/DC, I never listen to the words too closely.
