Every library should have... a shower.

Seriously, I feel hot and sweaty and could just do with, in my half hour evening tea break just having a quick hot shower before going out to deal with the hordes. There are certain states of filthygrimyness that just call for a shower. I don't have a shower at home, well one of those bath/shower things that don't work (I've never yet come across a bath with a showerhead attachment that works properly). I can have a bath but there's times when you want to lie around in hot water and times when you want to be hit by it moving very fast over your body, and today I could really do with the latter. My dream home would have both a bath and a shower I've decided. I do find advantages to both.

I wish I had a tape recorder with me today. I was working at The Greenhouse when someone came in with a kid who was bawling her eyes out for the twenty to thirty minutes they were in the library. Non-stop. By the library desk. I should have recorded it, then the next time I feel some misplaced biological urge to spread my genes around 30 seconds of that should set me straight again. I also suspect that playing this tape to teenage girls will make them be a bit more careful about using birth control. A screaming brat ain't the best way to make sure you get your own grotty flat girls.

I want one of those Japanese tubs that you can sit in. So you can sit & be in hot water up to your neck.

That sounds like the best thing in the world...I've just had a bath but it was nothing in the slightest bit like that.

I also have a shower but it's becoming more annoying everyday, like Flowers says its hard to find one that works, ours is held together with tape.

My Mum was investigating those but decided against. You effectively have to climb inside, close the door and wait for the water to fill up. Similarly at the end you have to let the water all drain out before you can leave. They've got the old bath upstairs and the shower downstairs, both of which i use when I visit.
