Anyone know anything about Schmap? They've asked to use a couple of my photos (possibly) for their guidebooks.

They asked me a few times also.. my problem with their site is that I can't try out their software on Linux, so actually have no idea what it is like.

Are they going to pay you? If not then I wouldn't let them. There are many, many people in the world who take amazing photos for a living. If every amateur approached allowed their photos to be used for free, then it would put all the photographers out of business and it would make the world a much less lovely, and less documented place.


I think it's really tight of them actually and it shouldn't be allowed.

I agree, a friend of mine had a similar e-mail from a different company but they asked him 'how much do you charge for the use of your pictures' think he charged about £200 for 'full use rights' for about 3-5 pictures.
