Jul. 5th, 2004 10:44 amWent to see Fahrenheit 9-11 with
elfgeek yesterday. Had a fun time as we ended up walking round Soho looking around in gay bookshops. Had a quick meal in this newish chinese fast-food place almost opposite the Virgin megastore at the Tottenham Court Road tube end of Oxford Street, then sat in Soho Square. The film was a preview showing for Independent newspaper competition winners only at the UGC in the Trocadero, to kill ten minutes before we went in we explored the awful jungle cafe shop thing next door, full of the most awful tat. They sold ultraviolet chalk which looked more like buttplugs and a certain person seemed far too interested in the plastic snakes...
The cinema was very hot though. Due to the inclement weather outside I'd worn a jumper and a coat, these were both off within minutes of getting inside. We were welcomed to the showing by someone who I guess was a deputy manager or something, all I remember was the acne and the voice which sounded as if he hadn't encountered puberty yet. God I'm feeling old...
