It's like a hideous parody of heterosexuality dreamed up as a WARNING TO OUR CHILDREN, isn't it?
Still trying to figure out why Liz annoys me more than Nirpal (beyond the possible fact that I feel more invested in Liz's self-presentation because she keeps going on about how she is A WOMAN YO and therefore, by implication, how I should be like her in some way, but luckily I have my Monique Wittig to hand and know that lesbians are not women so thank God for that) - today my theory is that it's because N. is trying to be controversial, so I can just write him off as a political-correctness-run-mad telling-it-like-it-is idiot. Whereas I just have no idea how self-aware Liz is, and it makes me want to shake her - either she knows she's crazy, in which case do something about it*, or she doesn't, in which case BAN HER from the Guardian FOR HER OWN GOOD IN THE NAME OF TOM ALL THAT IS SANE.
