This is just the thing. Liz is so terribly scared of getting old that she's willing to excuse pretty much everything that Nirpal does. He, in the meanwhile, is so juvenile that he's unwilling to accept any responsiblity and believes the world is here to service his pleasure. So she married him because she didn't want to risk being alone and he married her because he needs someone to darn his socks while he's out enjoying himself. Their marriage of misery is so perfect that I find it difficult to believe anything either of them say as real.
