Occupy LSX at Saint Paul's Cathedral

Popped up to Saint Paul's with [personal profile] alextiefling to see what was going on Occupy LSX-wise. The police all seemed to be sitting in their vans round by the South door or up stopping crusties from getting in to Paternoster Square on the North side. Things were peaceful but busy. There were individual outbreaks of the stupid, someone had decorated their tent with a 'this is Tahrir Square in London' meme which I hope doesn't spread beyond that one idiot, but on the whole things were sweet or funny. Still, as the long-term viability of the camp is in question (usual mutterings in the 'quality' press at the weekend with fed up banker types saying things like 'they've made their point, now it's time for them to go' as though that's how anything happens in life, wars are fought by one side turning up for a week, then just leaving, banking is done by people who do the job for one week and then quit their jobs) it's going to be interesting to see how long this goes on. At the moment it looks like the Church is going to go for filthy lucre over protests for a fairer society, which is, of course, exactly the message that that Jesus chappy had two thousand years ago.

Still, who are the people in the church who want to clear OLSX away?
