Endings are funny things, they make one man weep and another man si- No, that's not right. Some people don't like the final half an hour of The Return of the King, mainly because they have this baffling idea that the film ends after Aragorn is crowned King, or after the Hobbits make it back to the Shire, or after Sam marries Rosie. Most people, are very strange. Presumably they feel that books should wrap everything up nicely about sixty pages before the end, or get fidgety if House hasn't correctly diagnosed the malady-of-the-week and and berated his staff on the grounds of being black/Jewish/female/Australian or appearing in a film with Robin Williams at the twenty minute mark.
Endings are tricky. A weak ending can ruin all that came before it, a good ending can sometimes redeem a poor story. Sometimes if you're lucky, you get a good story and a good ending.
