The next couple of winners for the Fourth Plinth have been announced. As by my view of the proposed installations last August one of them I like (left) and one of them I don't much (right).

I would have hated the organ to go up there though, so I'll count this as still being a win.

Boris Supposedly Saves Libraries

There must be an election coming, Boris Johnson is actually doing some work. It's interesting, that Boris proposes saving public libraries rather than leaving them to the harsh wossnames of the market but there is a notable lack of any information about what he actually proposes to do. Libraries will start closing in the next six to eight months so if this plan goes any further than just being mentioned in an Evening Standard report it might be an idea to get a move on, unless Boris's plan involves waiting until all those pesky unionised local government staff have left and then reopen the libraries with private company staff?
