Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

So, I've finished Deathly Hallows of Deathly Death. I can't really be bothered to make with the LJ-CUT so will avoid being specific, only to say the first 300 pages are pretty dull and the second 300 are great, so much so that the chapter heading around page 300 should be 'Sorry for messing you around, I'll start the story properly now shall I?' and everything that happens after the arrival at the pub is great stuff and makes me wonder why J.K. Rowling insists on writing quest-style books when this story would tend to show it's not where her dramatic strengths lie.

Hmmm, that's not giving away too much is it?
