Mar. 31st, 2007 10:02 pmWell, Doctor Who was good wasn't it? I've tended towards RTD writing some of my favourite and least-favourite episodes from the two series thus far and, while this is in neither camp it tends more towards the former, a good introduction to a new companion who, hopefully, will get to stay this clever for her tenure. There's something that pleases my withered soul in that she accepts that they are on the moon because all the weird shit of the last few years has her believing aliens can exist (it's certainly better than Donna being too drunk or scuba diving to miss previous alien naughtiness). I don't care too much for her extended family yet. I hope they aren't making Dad out to be a wanker because he lacks authority and has a gold-digging younger girlfriend.
I'm also pondering about whether this is the first show to have more non-white than white speaking characters on primetime BBC? There's the Doctor, the Hospital Doctor, the Plasmavore, the young Doctor and the Dad's girlfriend, versus Martha, her sister, brother, brother's girlfriend, Mum and Dad and the other nurse. I haven't tried totting it up yet so may be wrong.
And they are podcasting the commentaries. Or at least, they say they are, I don't think it's turned up on iTunes yet.
