There are two colours in my head
Apr. 16th, 2005 09:51 amWell, I had fun yesterday trying to get free Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy tickets out of the Vue Cinema on the Finchley Road as part of an Empire magazine special offer. I made it there only to find they hadn't received their tickets yet and weren't sure when they'd turn up, thinking maybe two o'clock, by which time everyone who turned up had to be back at work. They weren't even willing to start reserving them for people to collect later. It was a bit annoying but it's not like seeing the film is on my '100 things to do before I die' list, so I'll probably phone them at lunchtime before I head in to town and see if they still have any left. My sympathies to the poor girl on the tickets desk who probably had to deal with a number of irate Comic Book Guys yesterday afternoon before the tickets showed up. Working in a public library has certainly taught me that spleen ventage at the first person who doesn't do what you want may be satisfying but achieves less than nothing.
(Anyone interested, there's another free tickets offer in this weeks Radio Times, dated 16-22 April. Anyone want to speculate why the biggest circulation film mag and TV listings magazine have been given free ticket offers by Buena Vista?)
Anyway, I'm planning to go see this at the National Gallery this afternoon. And I need some comics too...
