I need to send some media files that are around 450 MB to my Dad, I've tried using YouSendIt.com but for some reason it spends between half an hour and an hour saying it's doing it, then I've get a page load error and my Dad doesn't get an email to download the file. Can anyone suggest an alternative way for me to send the files to him?

I seem to have accidentally bought a DVD-R that will drive me insane.

I've got Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars on the hard disk, it is, bizarely, SF that I don't care for, but that my parents love. So I'm using it as a test for using the various functions of the DVD-R, I've realised you can't manually edit the thing so I can't cut out the commercials, and I've set chapter headings at the end of each break. And I've succesfully copied it onto the disc. Now it looks like I may have to 'finalise' the disc so I can play it on other machines. And when I look at the instructions a note says: Marked points marked before finalising will be deleted and titles will be divided automatically into 'chapters' approximately every five minutes.

Aargh! What is the point of letting me decide on my own chapter points if, should I want to keep a program, the machine overrules me and decides on it's own headings?! It's like the 'resume' function. I assumed the 'resume' function was there so I could stop a disc at any point and come back to it at another time, it did after all say: It is possible to memorise the position where you stop playback and resume playback from that position. What seems to be the case with resume however, is that if you were to either stop the disc, take it out, or turn the machine off, it forgets where you got to and you start from the beginning again. So really it's a pause function, and not a necessary one as I already have a pause function, namely the pause button.

UPDATE: So I've just 'finalised' the disc and it's kept my chapter headings after all. Which is good. Still can't get the wretched thing to resume properly though.
