Bah, humbug!

bitchiekittie wrote something about not feeling the Christmas cheer. I'm certainly feeling the same this year, though I'm not sure I do while at work. Certainly we seem to have had a week or two when we've been visited by all our crazy customers, my line manager had one woman shouting and being abusive at her the other day that she almost broke down, and the custodian and uber-manager (who I'm really feeling the respect and admiration for after her patiently helping me through PDR-ville) had to kick another user who was carrying on about something to do with the computers. We're also infested with students, which normally we don't get until after New Years, taking up all the space and displacing our regular users. The problem with the students is we get too many of them, hence 'infestation', and they seem to think that if the study area is full, it's unspeakably evil of us not to let them cram into every available space, no matter who else it inconveniences. And then there's the mobiles going off every second...

So, almost everyone that comes in to the library in the last week before Christmas is either a mental or a student. Then I've got to fight off the stockbrokers when I leave work for my parents tomorrow. I probably won't start feeling Christmassy until Saturday morning... Saturday 11th June.
