To quote my friend DB, in Rockefeller Center the only people waiting for the announcement of the venue was the committee, and three homeless people. London at least was acting like they wanted it.
I imagine that the IOC took one look at where the West Side stadium was going to be (or just took an unofficial poll) and said, nope, not NYC this time out.
