If that was true, they would've thrown it our way, and I'd be wondering exactly how badly my poor little boro was going to have it's head kicked in.

(Mind you, the World's Fair Grounds had the space necessary, but that was a last minute addition to a proposal that probably looked more and more like a Michael Bloomberg vanity project the closer you got to it)

To quote my friend DB, in Rockefeller Center the only people waiting for the announcement of the venue was the committee, and three homeless people. London at least was acting like they wanted it.

I imagine that the IOC took one look at where the West Side stadium was going to be (or just took an unofficial poll) and said, nope, not NYC this time out.
