Question

Is it possible for a woman to act as a transvestite in modern society as opposed to just a woman in trousers, without going all the way into drag king performative territory?

yes! there are girls who pass as men without becoming a walking "guy" stereotype or being just a girl wearing pants and a "boy" haircut.

I have this slight idea that all women are transvestites in modern society. Even a woman in a dress is in drag --i.e., is a woman dressed as a man dressed as a woman.

Well, I still manage to get stared at for walking around with very hairy legs. That might be an approximation of it.

Wearing a tie. There are no girl ties and I don't think it's ever really been popular enough as girl-wear to normalise it.
That's what I tell myself, anyway (adjusts shiny tie).
